What we carry
We carry excepted packages, Type A packages, and industrial packages for low specific activity material. That covers radiolabelled compounds for research, instruments and articles containing radioactive sources, sealed industrial sources, medical radionuclides for hospital nuclear medicine, and LSA-II solids in Type IP-2 packaging. If your consignment falls outside that envelope, tell us what it is and we will assess it before we accept the job. We would rather turn work away than carry it wrong.
Why Class 7 is different
Radioactive material is specialist work. Carriage is regulated under ADR and the Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017, and the carrier needs trained drivers, a radiation protection programme, and the right paperwork before the package moves. We have all of it in place.
What happens when you call
We check the consignment details against your Dangerous Goods Note before collection. Our driver verifies the packaging, labelling and transport documentation on arrival, and the load travels secured, tracked, and driven straight to the delivery point. You get a signed delivery note as proof of delivery.
The compliance behind it
All drivers hold ADR driver training certificates including the stand-alone Class 7 course, plus the radiation protection training required under ADR 1.7.2.5. The RPA appointment sits under Regulation 14 of the Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017, and we are registered with the HSE under the same regulations. A Radiation Risk Assessment prepared by the RPA and reviewed by our Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser is in force. DfT Inspected: Fully Compliant.
