TERMS OF CARRIAGE

ADR Direct Ltd
Last updated: 14 August 2026

All goods are carried under the Road Haulage Association Conditions of Carriage 2026, of which ADR Direct Ltd is an authorised user as an RHA member. A copy is available on request. The conditions below sit alongside the RHA Conditions and set out the charges specific to ADR Direct Ltd. Where the two differ, the conditions on this page apply.

Quotations and bookings

Every quotation is based on the information provided at the time of enquiry, including the UN number, proper shipping name, class, packing group where applicable, quantity, and the collection and delivery points. A booking is confirmed when we accept it in writing, including by email. If the goods presented differ from the goods quoted, we may provide a new quotation or decline the consignment.

Dangerous goods documentation

The customer is responsible for providing a completed Dangerous Goods Note and for ensuring the consignment is classified, packaged, marked and labelled in accordance with ADR before our vehicle arrives. Our driver will verify packaging, labelling and transport documentation including the Dangerous Goods Note on arrival and reserves the right to refuse any consignment that does not meet the required standard.

Refusal of non-compliant consignments

Under ADR 1.4.2.2.3, a carrier who observes an infringement of the requirements of ADR shall not forward the consignment until the matter has been rectified. If our driver refuses a consignment on these grounds, the journey is charged as a wasted journey at the full agreed price. We will tell you at the time what the fault is, and where it can be rectified on site within the free waiting period, the job continues as booked.

Waiting time

Thirty minutes is included free of charge at the collection point and thirty minutes at the delivery point. Waiting beyond the free period is charged at £40 plus VAT per hour or part of an hour. Waiting time charges apply where the job goes ahead; the wasted journey charge applies where it cannot.

Cancellation

A booking cancelled more than 24 hours before the booked collection time is free of charge. A booking made within 24 hours of the collection time may be cancelled free of charge until the vehicle has been dispatched. A booking made more than 24 hours in advance and cancelled within 24 hours of the booked collection time is charged at 75 percent of the agreed price, because the vehicle and driver have been reserved for that work. Once the vehicle has been dispatched, the full agreed price is payable in all cases.

Wasted journeys

Where our vehicle attends as booked and the consignment cannot be collected or delivered, including where no one is present, the goods are not ready, site access is refused, or the consignment is refused on ADR grounds as set out above, the full agreed price is payable.

Payment

Invoices are payable within the terms stated on the invoice. We may charge statutory interest and compensation on overdue amounts under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. All charges and prices on this page are exclusive of VAT.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will update this page and change the date at the top. The version in force when your booking is confirmed is the version that applies.

Happy to talk any of these terms through before you book.
